This is a video to show you how to install a custom headliner. Start at the front and work to the back hanging the rods in place as you go.

How to install headliner. Remove the old headliner. Pry off all the trim that surrounds the headliner and holds it in place. Scrape off any foam that remains stuck on the headliner board with a bristle brush or lightweight sandpaper.
Lay the replacement headliner fabric over the headliner. Start at the front and work to the back hanging the rods in place as you go. Or you can start from the back and work to the front - either way will work just fine.
When you finish hanging the headliner in the car it is time to pull it tight front to back. This is a video to show you how to install a custom headliner. This was the first headliner Ive ever done so it may not be perfect.

Across the center of the roof panel is another tack strip this one with a series of spikes. Gene centers the headliner and then holding the bow at the top of the sleeve pushes the center spike through the sleeve under the bow. Lift the headliner to the roof and install the number 3 wire rod.
Work toward the rear and install the side to side wires. Then if present snap the listing wire or wires into longitudinal bow receptacles. Then work forward and install remaining side to side wires.

It should go as far forward and back as possible as well as side to side. The curvature of the roof and how big the door opening is will have an effect on the size but the bigger the better. Once its cut and youre happy with the fit CENTER IT and screw it in place.
Pull the quarters diagonally into the corners of the car and fasten in place. Finish the rear quarters and trim off excess materials. Push the headliner into the rear window ring and fasten at the center top and bottom then work your way around the ring.
You may have to cut a relief in the center of the fabric. In the video we demonstrate how to install foam backed headliner using 3M General Trim Adhesive. There is also bonus footage showing the importance of letting this spray adhesive get tacky before installing your headliner and a short piece about upholstering and adding trim pieces.

Mark and trim the new headlining using the old one as a pattern. Trim the listings on the new headlining to the approximate length of those on the old one. Remove the support rods from the old headlining and install them in the same relative rod listings of the new headlining.
